The Stormy Sea Pilot Jacket is a rugged and warm three-quarter length fully waterproof jacket, and is worn by sea pilots in many ports around the world. It provides protection from the weather elements and inflates to offer a minimum of 300 Newtons of buoyancy in an overboard situation. The sleeve pocket is ideal for storing safety extras such as a PLB device. The Stormy Sea Pilot Jacket features a safety harness with lifting loop to aid rescue. An external hip strap is tucked into the lower exterior pockets, this fastens below the hips and prevents the coat from riding up in high winds or when inflated in the water. This assists with the protection and confidence of pilots in any boating circumstances.
The inflation system features the new Pro Sensor® Automatic Inflator, allowing you to easily check if the inflation unit has already been activated. The unit also provides the added benefit of detecting if the CO² cylinder has been pierced, eradicating the possibility of accidentally fitting an empty gas cylinder. If the indicator window is showing all green, it is ready to activate. If one of the indicators is red you will know it needs a new cylinder or cartridge. The automatic inflation system can be changed to manual activation. You choose the best option for your boating activities.
300 Newtons of buoyancy is designed to keep afloat a persons over 120kg, wearing wet weather gear, carrying tools or heavy work wear/PPE.
